The Life of Lynna "Jeane" Roy

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at 2:00 PM in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers in Lafayette, for Lynna "Jeane" Roy, 77, who passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at her home in Lafayette. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum at a later date.

Reverend Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.

Jeane was a native of Izoro, Texas and graduated from Big Spring High School in Big Spring, Texas. She met her husband, Monte, in Midland, TX in a cafe and it was love at first sight. Monte was transferred to Franklin, LA in 1958, while working for Texaco. They lived in Franklin for five years, then moved to Lafayette, where they currently resided. Jeane was a bank teller for First National Bank and Iberia Bank, retiring after 42 years of service. She was a soft spoken, gentle woman, who lived for her children and grandchildren. She was always well dressed and loved shopping for herself and especially her grandchildren. Jeane and her husband, Monte, were best friends and enjoyed traveling and spending time together visiting family. Her daughter, Vicki, was her caregiver over the last three years and towards the end, never left her side. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Monte Kyle Roy; two daughters, Vicki Roy and Kelly Richard and her husband Tony; three grandchildren, Joshua Richard, Kayla Roy and Kyle Roberts; one great grandchild, Audrina Roy; three siblings, Pearl Fegett, Retta Morris and Marcia Morton; four nephews, Dwayne Morris, Kevin Lawdermilk, Troy Morton and Mark Morton ; and two nieces Tammy Corrales and Nicole Morris, She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard "Bo" Morton and Mary Elizabeth Morton; two siblings, Keith Morton and Leroy Morton; and her granddaughter, April Lynn Richard (Joshua''s twin).

The family requests that visiting hours be observed in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Sunday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Roy''s name to Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermilion St., Lafayette, LA 70501.

The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice for their compassionate care and could not have done it without them.
