The Life of Gloria Alleman
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Gloria Alleman, 77, who died on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Lady of the Oaks Retirement Manor in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, Pastor of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice, Louisiana will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist accompanied by Kurt Melancon, soloist, will sing "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", "Amazing Grace", "Ave Maria", and "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman" for the services.
Left to cherish her memories include her three daughters, Bonnie Alleman Welborn and her husband, Larry, Pamela Alleman, and Debra Alleman; one sister, Dorothy Talkington; four grandchildren, Tasha Alleman Castille and her husband, Jarrett, Torrie Hughes, Brooke Wright, and Jonathan Alleman, and his wife, Courtney; and three great grandchildren, Cohen Raley, Sydney Raley, and Avery Castille.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland James Alleman; her son, Brian James Alleman; her parents, Joseph Eraste and Alta Chiasson Broussard; and her brother, Francis Broussard.
Gloria Alleman was a member of Our Lady Queen of Angels Altar Society. She loved gardening and helping the disabled by cooking for them and transporting them to their doctor appointments. Gloria Alleman was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Alleman, Glenn Broussard, Steve Broussard, Robert Comb, John Reis, James L. Baldwin, and Jarrett Castille.
Honorary Pallbearer will be John Barry Talkington.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
