The Life of Willis Carroll Menard

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel for Willis "Carrol" Menard, 74, who died on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette surrounded by his family.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace," "Ave Maria," "J''irai la voir un jour," and "I Can Only Imagine."

He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Keith Menard and his wife, Melissa, Jude Menard and his wife, Charlotte and Kevin Menard; one sister, Kathleen Pellerin; three brothers, Nolan Menard, Robert Menard and Jackie Menard; four grandchildren, Megan Menard, Kennon Menard, Tasha Thompson and Lloyd Thompson; and one great grandchild, Landon Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis P. Menard and Edith Broussard Menard; and four sisters, Verna Mae Williams, Sandra Sue Menard, Jacklyn Hardy and Pamela Patin.

Willis C. Menard was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a member of the Army National Guard where he proudly served his country. Mr. Menard was an avid outdoorsman, a cajun music enthusiast and worked well with his hands, building traps and pranks for many people. He was a member of the Cattleman''s Association and loved going to the sales barn. Mr. Menard was also a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Community in Scott. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often sharing his favorite saying, "One day at a time." Mr. Menard will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Keith Menard, Jude Menard, Kevin Menard, Kennon Menard, Jackie Menard and Beau Menard.

A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.

Donations may be made in Mr. Menard''s memory to St. Jude''s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
