The Life of Violet B Romig

Violet B. (Benjamin) Romig, 87, of Mertztown, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. She was the widow of Edgar C. Romig, who died June 10, 2013.

Born in District Township, she was a daughter of the late George and Bertha (Keim) Benjamin. Mrs. Romig was a member of the Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, Emmaus. She was employed as a sewing machine operator at the former Fleetwood Shirt Factory, Fleetwood, the former David Crystal, Reading, and also worked at Martin's Fabric Store, Fleetwood. Violet enjoyed quilting and sewing and was a loving and dedicated wife, caring mother and devoted grandmother.

She is survived by Daughter, Renee L. (Romig) Sufrinko - Solt, wife of Carl D. Solt, Mertztown. Other survivors include granddaughters, Amanda L. Sufrinko, Orlando, Florida, and Annie L. Sufrinko, Mertztown; sisters, Bertha (Benjamin) Stewart, Hamburg, Sarah (Benjamin) Hess, Fredericksville and Frieda (Benjamin) Fox, Hamburg; brothers, Raymond Benjamin, Fleetwood and George Benjamin, Landis Store; there are also many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Lilly (Benjamin) Greiss and brothers, Bill, Harold, Jack, Richard and Donald.

Funeral Services are Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment will follow in Huff's Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis. Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Friday morning from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm Street, Emmaus, PA 18049 or Huff's Union Church Memorial Fund, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA  18011. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
