The Life of Rowena Marie Picard
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Rowena Marie Picard, 66, who passed away on March 19, 2014 at 5:40 pm at Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
Reverend Brian Taylor, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place at a later date at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rowena, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the daughter of the late George Picard and the former Yvonne Frisbie.
Rowena was the former owner of Peggy''s Poodle Parlor for many years. She enjoyed going to the Metro Bingo with her companion Ricky Broussard for many years.
She is survived by her sister, Sarah P. Begnaud, and husband Emery; two brothers, William A. Picard and wife Sandra and George E. Picard. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her companion for many years Ricky James Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home Bertrand Drive on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 8:00 am until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Picard, Mark Mouton, Beau Begnaud, William A. Picard, George E. Picard and Mark A. Mouton. Honorary Pallbearer will be Emery Begnaud.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA is in charge of funeral arrangements.
