The Life of Wilray LeJeune

EUNICE-It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Wilray LeJeune announce his passing on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Acadian Medical Center. He was 79. A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice with Dr. Clark Palmer, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 pm in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery, 2111 W. Pinhook Road, Lafayette, LA 70506, (337)235-3062.

Wilray LeJeune was born April 8, 1934 in Church Point, LA. His parents, Placide and Herminie Henry LeJeune, were farmers in the Richard area. Will graduated from Church Point High in 1952 and joined the United States Air Force and began his military service in Korea in the area of avionics. After serving his full detail in the military, Will began his career in the world of computers and spent the next 15 years traveling and living abroad to accommodate his job. He retired from the computer industry in 1976 and spent the next 23 years in aviation. He was a pilot in the corporate industry, a pilot instructor, and later became an agriculture pilot servicing the Tri-Parish area.

Will’s first marriage was to Shirley Jeanise and together they had six children. He is survived by all and their spouses, Joan and John Hoffman of Baton Rouge, Michael and Laura LeJeune of Abbeville, Deborah and Brian Broussard of Carencro, Brad and Eileen LeJeune of New Iberia, Maureen and Darrell Guidry of Carencro, and Chris LeJeune of New Iberia.

In 1987, Will married E. Lynn LeJeune and she brought three children into the marriage. He is survived by all and their spouses, Renee Harelson and Martin Habetz of Rayne, Frankie Harelson of New Orleans, and Tammi and Gary Griffeth of Mansfield, OH.

Together Will and Lynn have nine children, eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Together they joined their two families to make a happy home and are very proud of each and every one of them. The beautiful blend of personalities, spirit and kindness that they have exhibited over the years created an atmosphere that Will was very proud of.

Will is also survived by his two brothers and their spouses, Allen and Geneva LeJeune of Mamou, and Albert and Keitha LeJeune of Ville Platte; his sister in law and her spouse, Pat and Melvin Jones of Augusta, GA; and brother in laws and their spouses, Joseph (deceased) and Angela Archer of Divide, CO, and Jim and Guylyn Boles of Vidalia, LA.

“You will be sorely missed but never forgotten and always in our hearts.”

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, March 21st from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, March 22nd from 8:00 am until time of services.
