The Life of Eloise Desormeaux

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Eloise Daigle Desormeaux, 79, who died on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Entombment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Mausoleum in Lafayette.

Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be her granddaughters, Michelle Dauterive Benoit, Amy Dugas Rose, and Meg Cox. Giftbearers will be her granddaughters, Michelle Dauterive Benoit, Amy Dugas Rose, and Meg Cox. Valerie Andrus, organist and soloist, will sing "The Old Rugged Cross", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "J''irai La Voir Un Jour", "All I Ask Of You", "Amazing Grace", and "One Bread, One Body" for the services.

Left to cherish her memories include her three daughters, Mrs. David "Tiny" Dugas, Mrs. Ronnie "Gayle" Dauterive, and Mrs. Mike "Donna" Cox; one brother, Arthur "Preacher" Daigle, Jr.; five grandchildren, Michelle Dauterive Benoit and her husband, Joseph, Amy Dugas Rose and her husband, Will, Steven Dugas and his wife, Rachael, Mickey Cox, and Meg Cox; and five great grandchildren, Mathew Benoit, Brendan Rose, Mary Claire Benoit, Pearl Olivia Dugas, and Baby Rose.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty four years, Emery Desormeaux; her parents, Arthur and Louise Prejean Daigle; two sisters, Mildred Daigle and Mary Lou Sonnier; and three brothers, Edrick Daigle, J.C. Daigle, and Lifford Daigle.

Eloise Daigle Desormeaux was volunteer at St. Genevieve, Teurlings, and several volunteer organizations. She went on many cursillos over the years. Eloise loved to read and spend time with her family. Eloise Daigle Desormeaux was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Benoit, Christopher Colley, Scotty Daigle, and Will Rose.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Orson Daigle.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 11:00 AM by Deacon Art Bakeler in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
