The Life of Edgar Frey Urban

EDGAR FREY URBAN, 66, former building inspector for the Borough of Chester Heights, died Saturday at his home on Lenni Road, Chester Heights. Mr. Urban was born in Millersville, son of the late Oliver H. and Mary Frey Urban. He married the former Ethel Hart in 1918 and moved to Delaware County and lived in Johnson’s Corner, Dilworthtown and Chester Heights. He was formerly a builder and carpenter. For 15 years he was employed by Dr. William G. Fager of Rose Hill School, Chester Heights. He was a member of Chester Heights Fire Co. Besides his widow he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Williard T. Williams, and Mrs. Donald N. Gosling, both of West Chester, Mrs. Samuel F. Warfield of Boothwyn, Mrs. Lewis J. Watkins of Chester, Mrs. Jay G. Kelly at home and Mrs. William D. Preston of Media; four sons, Edgar O. of Chester, Russell E. of West Chester, Ralph L. of Newtown Square, and Donald M. of Newark, Del.; two brothers, Clarence F. of Lewistown, PA and Walter F. of Conestoga, PA; 29 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Harold A. Famous Funeral Home, 101 S. Church Street, West Chester. Burial will be in Elam Methodist Cemetery, Elam.
