The Life of Herbert Thomas Chandler
Herbert T. Chandler
Age 87, of Newark, DE, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
Mr. Chandler was a graduate of the University of Delaware, Class of '44. He served as a Lt. J.G. with the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Goldcrest, a naval minesweeper from 1944 to 1946. He then worked for 34 years with the DuPont Company in their design department.
Mr. Chandler was a past member of the Lion's Club and enjoyed gardening, puzzles, baseball and bridge.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara J. Cernikovsky and her husband, Tomas of Guatamala; and 2 grandchildren, David and Jennifer Cernikovsky. His wife, Naomi, predeceased him on June 13.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am, on Thursday June 24, at Elam United Methodist Church Cemetery, Glen Mills, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, New Castle, DE 19720.
