The Life of Robert W Smith,Jr.

ROBERT W. SMITH, JR., 74, of Bethel, a retired Sun Oil Co. operator, who enjoyed singing and playing golf, died April 4 at home. Born in Chester, Mr. Smith was a resident of Concord for 20 years before moving to Bethel four years ago. He was employed by Sun Oil co. for 37 years. He was a member of the Elam United Methodist Church and the Sun Oil Honor club. He was a member of the church choir for many years. Mr. Smith was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the brother of the late Joyce Jewell and Lily Collins. Survivors: Wife of 24 years, Carole D. Swope Smith, daughter, Cathleen Moyer of Aston, brother, William Smith of West Chester and two granddaughters. Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Elam United Methodist Church, 1073 Smithbridge Road, Concord. Visitation: 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial: In the adjoining church cemetery.
