The Life of Thomas Webster Johnson Jr.

THOMAS W. JOHNSON, JR., 68, a life-long resident of Johnson’s Corners, Elam, died today at his home, after an illness of two years. He was the son of the late Thomas W., Sr. and Sarah Toole Johnson. Mr. Johnson was born in the house in which he died, as was his father before him. For years he operated a farm there and owned the property used for the Brandywine Camp Meetings. He was a Mason, being a member of the West Chester Lodge. Surviving him is his widow, Emillie Holton Johnson, and two sisters, Mrs. Eva J. Weldin, and Mrs. Mattie J. Ely. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at his late home, and burial is in Elam Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday evening. “Chester Times” Thurs., June 14, 1945
