The Life of John F Haskell

John F. Haskell, 85, (obit) Former Bethel Township supervisor John F. Haskell, 85, of Bethel, a former Bethel supervisor and World War II veteran, died Sept. 12 at Vitas Hospice in Philadelphia.

A 1938 graduate of Springfield High School, Mr. Haskell was the fire marshal for BP in Trainer for 45 years. A township supervisor in Bethel, he spearheaded the township's Bicentennial Celebration. He was a longtime member of the Springfield Fire Co. and served as the fire marshal in Bethel.

Mr. Haskell served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his granddaughter and playing the banjo in the Mummers Parade.

Survivor: Wife of 63 years, Yvonne G. Cullinan Haskell daughters, Yvonne I. Bacon of Pennsville, N.J., Deborah Griffin of Chadds Ford one granddaughter.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home, 1 W. Baltimore Pike, Media.
