The Life of Arthur T Dingle

ARTHUR T. DINGLE, 60, of Concord, an accountant for Sun Oil Co. and past president of Garnet Valley School Board, died Tuesday in Crozer Chester Medical Center, Upland. Born in Chester, Mr. Dingle had lived in Delaware County all of his life, for the last 35 years in Concord. He had been employed by sun Oil co. for 29 years. He was a member of Sun’s Sapphire Club, was a past scoutmaster for Troop 486 of Concord and belonged to Elam United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men. Mr. Dingle had been on the Garnet Valley School Board for 13 years and was a past member of Delaware County Intermediate Unit. A veteran of World War II, he had served in the Army Air Corps in the European Theater. A graduate of Swarthmore High School, Mr. Dingle also was graduated from Mercersburg Academy in the class of 1940. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Rankin Dingle; two sons, Theodore Rankin Dingle with the U.S. Navy in Sicily and J.R. Dingle, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Edith D. Peoples, of Orlando, Fla. And Mrs. Carol L. Mowry, of Downingtown; a sister, Mary M. Dingle, of Concord and one grandchild. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Elam United Methodist Church, Smithbridge Road. Burial will be in the adjacent church cemetery. Calling hours will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. The family has suggested that memorial donations be made either to the Elam Church or the Heart Fund.
