The Life of Harold L Covington Jr.

Harold L. Covington Jr., 86 Retired Sun Oil Co. employee. Harold L. Covington Jr., 86, of Concord, died Oct 13 at his home. Mr. Covington retired from Sun Oil Co. in 1982 after 33 years of service. He was an U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and belonged to the VFW Post 6835 of Bethel. He was a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Chester before becoming a 50-year member of the Elam United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee for six years. Mr. Covington was a 58-year member of the Penn Lodge No. 709 F&AM of Chester. He was also a member of the Supreme Forest of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. _________________________ Lodge Council Chapter Consistory of the Valley of Wilmington and the Nur Temple Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S. of Wilmington. Mr. Covington was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Margaret Covington and brother, Wilton Covington. Survivors: Wife of 60 years, Lorraine McNeil Covington; a daughter, Nancy L. Covington of Wilmington, Del.; a son, Thomas L. Covington of Concordville; and a sister Emily Herestofa of Wallingford, Nether Providence. Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, Elam United Methodist Church, 1078 Smithbridge Road, Glen Mills. Masonic and VFW service will be at 10:45 a.m. Visitation: 9:45-10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.
