The Life of JOSEPH F DYER, JR

Joseph Francis Dyer, Jr. was the oldest child of eight, and the only son born to Joseph and Florentine Dyer, Sr. JoJo, as he was known, was spectacular in sports, honing his baseball, track, basketball, and football skills at Ammons Recreational Center in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. He graduated from Fifth Avenue High School in June 1965, and was employed at Bell Telephone before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he became a Medic. JoJo was killed in action in the Battle of Dak To on November 18, 1967.
