The Life of JAMES H. LAUGHLIN

JAMES H. LAUGHLIN (1806-1882). Born in Ireland, Laughlin emigrated to America and In 1854, joined B.F. Jones in forming the Jones & Laughlin Steel Company (J & L Steel), a venture that earned vast wealth for both partners. Laughlin was an original Corporator of Allegheny Cemetery and also held founding interests in the First National Bank of Pittsburgh, the Western Theological Seminary and the Pennsylvania Female College (today's Chatham University).
