The Life of REVEREND FRANCIS HERRON

Dr. Herron was born at Shippensburg Pennsylvania June 28 1774, graduated from Dickenson College in 1794 and was licensed by Carlisle Presbyterian Church October 4 1797, ordained April 9 1800 and became at first pastor of Rock Spring church. Dr. Herron then became pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh and identified himself so thoroughly with it that it soon became the leading church of the denomination in the Region.
