In 1940 the fashionable architect Brandon Smith planned a Modern Gothic administration building, chapel, and columbarium building for this approximate location. The so called Mausoleum-soon called the Temple of Memories-came in its place, stage by stage, to anticipate demand. The sixth building campaign of 1988 brought the capacity to 8,000 crypts and 1,200 urn niches. Glass inside is by Willett Stained-Glass Studios (Philadelphia) and Hunt Stained Glass Studios. The crypts and walls are sumptuously covered in a variety of marbles and woods. The art collection includes paintings by Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot and Cecilia Beaux.
