The Life of Marion Leonard

Marion N. Leonard, 92, a resident of Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg since 2008, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Branch P. Blair and the late Lloyd L. Leonard.
Born July 4, 1925 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Albert C. and Elisabeth S. (James) Norton, she was a 1946 graduate of Wheaton College, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and a 1948 graduate of The University of Pennsylvania, where she received a Master's Degree in Education. A retired school teacher she taught in Philadelphia as well as for the York City School District. She attended Hope Grace Brethren Church in Dillsburg, and was a church pianist. She was also a released time teacher, hunter and outdoor enthusiast.
Mrs. Leonard is survived by five children, Carol H. Blair of Gladewater, TX, Constance F. Christian of Louisville, KY, Daniel B. Blair of Manchester, Douglas A. Blair of Mount Wolf, and Andrew K. Blair of York; a step daughter, Christine Strunk; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Norton of Dover, DE. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Norton; and two sisters, Betty Beckon and Barbara Klaus.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 at Messiah Village Chapel, 100 Mount Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg. Burial will be private. Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
