The Life of Leonard Twaddell

Leonard " Shorty " Twadell, 68 0f 1914 Zebley Rd, Brandywine Hundred, died Tuesday of an apparant heart attack in Christiana Hospital, Newark.

Mr. Twaddell owned and operated Twaddell Plumbing & Heating Inc, Wilmington for many years. He became semi-retired two years ago, but remained a Vice President of the company.

He was a member of Elam United Methodist Church, Glen Mills, Pa., where he was a former memberof the board of trustee, the administrative board, and the stewarship committee.  He was a member of the Methodist Men's Group and Old Fellows Lodge, Elam. He was a member and past president of Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors Association of Delaware.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

His wife, Doris E. Talley Twaddell, died in December 1987.  He is survived by four daughters, Linda Reist and Kathleen Moon, both of Wilmington, Virginia Hurley of Washington, DC and Ruth Galloway of West Grove, Pa.; a son, Willard of Wilmington; a brother Raymond of Escondido, Calif.; a sister, Mildred Baughn of North Carolina; and 11 grandchildred.

Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Elam United Methodist Church, 1073 Smithbridge Road, Glen Mills, where friends may call after 11:30 a.m.  Burial will be in the adjoining churchyard.
