Husband of Dorene Carter; father of Stephen Carter and the late Lance Carter, Jr.; grandfather of Marley, Tray, and Ansi Carter; brother of Oliver Jr., Eric (Lucy) Carter, Judith (Walter, Sr.) Griffin, and Jill (Pete Howell) Carter; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Lance was a dedicated teacher having taught for many years in the Pittsburgh Public School District and at the Auberle Education Center. Friends received, Friday, 4-8 p.m., at SOXMAN FUNERAL HOMES, LTD./ROTH CHAPEL, 7450 Saltsburg Road, (at Universal Road) Penn Hills, where a Service will be held, Saturday, 11 a.m.
