The Life of Daniel G. Zeis
Daniel G. Zeis, 67, of Amelia, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Anderson Mercy Hospital surrounded by family. He was born February 22, 1950 in Cincinnati, son of Joan Zahn Zeis of Trenton, OH and the late Richard “Dick” Zeis. He was married to Debby Parker Zeis, who survives, for 13 years.
Dan was a United States Navy Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He was a part of the VA 65 Attack Squadron on the USS Independence and was a member of the Amelia American Legion Post #773. Dan was very active in his community, especially in Amelia Knothole Baseball and West Clermont Local School Marching Bands. He was a 1968 graduate of Colerain High School and graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. After 26 years, he retired from Omron Electronics in June of last year.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Jesse (Corinne) Ramsey, Carrie (Dave) Gamble, George (Sarah) Zeis, Jason (Sarah) Ramsey and Erin (Kyle) Rumke; grandchildren, Cierra, Abby, Rio, Kaia, Jameson and Henry; siblings, Nancy (Chuck) Donathan, Sheila (Denny) Sand, Jeff (Peggy) Zeis, Mary (Mark) Hudson, Becky (Lou) Motz and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Zeis.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Monday, August 14, 2017 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St. (SR 125), Amelia. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Union Township, where military graveside services will be conducted.
