The Life of Lillian Menige
Lillian Menige, age 94 of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Tuesday, March 13, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Angelo and Jesse (Castrille) Capra.
Lillian was always a poised, charming and kind young woman. She was a very pleasant and outgoing person and had developed many friends over the years. She contributed to the community and volunteered at Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia for over 30 years. More recently, she volunteered at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE for three years. Lillian was a member in good standing with the Midway Lions Club, Jeanes Hospital Auxiliary and Beebe Healthcare Auxiliary. Most of all, she was very devoted to her family.
Lillian is survived by her loving husband, Charles Menige; they shared 75 wonderful years of marriage together. She was a loving mother and is survived by her two daughters: Elsie May (Mame) Herbert and Linda Hrynko; her five grandchildren: Charlotte H. Papaleo, David C. Herbert, Heather Hrynko, Douglas Herbert and Melissa Hrynko; her three great grandchildren: Lillianna Hrynko, and Brandon and Chase Mears. She was well loved by all and will be remembered fondly.
A Prayer Service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
