On Thursday, May 11, 2017, Thomasina P. Schneider died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Paul Schneider; mother of Mia S. Manion, Amy M. (Glackin) Manion and Sean T. Manion (Katie); stepmother to Gretchen E. Rabinkin (Dan), Marcus J. Schneider (Stacey) and David P. Schneider (Karen); grandmother of Madeline, Milo, Sammy, Nate and Remy; sister of Lucille Lynch, Marianne Kretz, Thomas Bielawski, Bernadette Rogan and the late Ray Bielawski, Larry Bielawski and Joan Vertullo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Thomasina was a graduate of Carlow University, then went on to teach 1,000s of students the love of music for 30 years in Pennsylvania and New York. She was an organist and choir director at the Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Thomasina was a lover of nature, the visual and performing arts, social issues, traveling and good cuisine. Movies and books were favorite passions as well. Her greatest comfort was spending time with her family and friends. Friends and family will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be private. Remembrances in her name may be made to the Senator John Heinz History Center or the charity of your choice .
