STEGER WILBUR A.
Age 87, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by way of New York, New Haven, Cambridge, MA, and Los Angeles. Dad had a peaceful death April 22, 2017, at his adopted home of Juniper Village, surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of the late Sheila Steger. He is survived by children, Ed (Cathy), Fran (Barry Judd), Hal (Joanne Brown), and Jeff (Janice Pliner); grandchildren, Jesse (Alexa), Zack, Jenny, Alexis, Laura, Rachel, and Sarah; siblings, Bruce (Sue), Fran (Chuck), and Barbara (Jerry), and his dear wife, Sheila Kaufman. Following his undergraduate education at Yale University and obtaining a PhD in Economics at Harvard University, Will worked at Rand Corporation in California, and later founded CONSAD Research Corporation, a public policy consulting firm devoted to economic research and analysis for the public and private sectors. For much of its history, CONSAD was located in East Liberty. Dad was devoted to making the world a better place for all its citizens. He loved music, tennis, the Brooklyn/LA Dodgers, and all things Pittsburgh, especially the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins. He cherished his family, friends, and long time colleagues. And loved to talk and converse! A service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Homewood Cemetery, 1599 S. Dallas Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
