Age 80, of Longwood, formerly of Squirrel Hill, passed peacefully on March 17, 2017. Beloved wife of Gordon H. Lewis; dear mother of Peter Harriman Lewis (Melissa) of Charleston, SC, and Kevin Armitage Lewis (Laurie) of Winthrop, ME; loving grandmother of Bennett Lewis, Gwendolen Lewis, Gabrielle Lewis, Chelsea Kane, and Amanda DeVore; sister of Deming L., John A. and Timothy C. Payne. Pamela was also a beloved teacher, mentor, and professor to students in Portola Valley, CA, Southern Connecticut University, Duquesne University, and Carnegie- Mellon University School of Urban and Public Affairs. As a faculty member at CMU Heinz College, she taught presentation skills to graduate students and was year after year voted by the students to be the outstanding teacher. In addition, Pamela was a frequent vocal soloist at venues throughout Pittsburgh, most recently at Longwood- at-Oakmont. She believed "music is the food of love" and nurtured a generous heart, graciously giving to all those whom she met. She lived a full life. Her passing is like a stone dropped in a still lake. The ripples of her love and zest for life will continue to be felt long after the stone is no longer seen. Friends will be received Monday, March 20, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. Funeral Service to be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Redeemer, 5700 Forbes Ave., Squirrel Hill, where everyone should meet at the church the morning of. Interment will be in Homewood Cemetery. An additional memorial service will be held at Longwood- at-Oakmont on May 20, 2017, at 2 p.m. More details will be announced in April.
