Of Frederick County, VA passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017, at the Villages at Orchard Ridge in Winchester, VA. Ms. Fairbanks was born in 1942 in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of the late Bernhard and Maria Wolff. She graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor's in Microbiology, then went on to earn her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. She retired as a Certified Financial Planner with MD&A Financial Management Company in Pittsburgh, PA. Surviving are daughters, Krista Fairbanks of Pittsburgh, PA and Linda Galanthay (Ted) of Ithaca, NY; son, Bryan Fairbanks (Stephanie) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Theodore, Claire, Grace, Lindsay, and Timothy; and one sister, Linda Reuter of Flowery Branch, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning, March 18, 2017, from 9:00 until the time of Memorial Service at 11 o'clock in the LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Pittsburgh (Mt. Lebanon), Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ellen may be made to Salvation Army of Pittsburgh, 1060 McNeilly Road, Pgh., PA 15226.
