Beloved wife of the late Thomas Joseph Vandergrift; loving mother of Thomas Vandergrift (Joni), Nancy Hart (Dave) and Linda Cyphers (Mark); devoted grandmother of Kelli and Kristi Vandergrift, Alex, Taylor, Connor and Madison Hart, and Hayley, Jack and Katie Cyphers; sister of Nancy Ewing (Mary Lou Ruttle) and the late Robert Ewing (survived by Dee); sister-in-law of Cass White (the late Bert Reder and Rege White), and the late Dorothy Killian (Ben) and Gene Vandergrift; also survived by nieces and nephews. Phyllis was born in Wind Ridge, PA to Gaylord and Julia Ewing and worked as a Data Information Specialist for Management Science Associates for 25 years. Friends received at MCCABE BROS., INC. FUNERAL HOME, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral will commence on Monday at 9 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bede Church at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Homewood Cemetery.
