The Life of THOMAS AQUINAS CONWAY

CONWAY
THOMAS AQUINAS

After a courageous battle with colon cancer, 81, of Shaler, was gathered into the loving arms of his Lord on Monday, February 27, 2017. He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly Ann Conway; his son, Shawn T. Conway (Christina) of Dubois, PA; his son, Brian D. Conway (Tempe) of St. Johns, FL; his sisters, Genevieve Karcher, Dolores Shanahan, Margie Berardi; his sister-in-law, Faye Shipley of Penn Hills, PA; his brother-in-law, Fred Crum (Carol) of Dublin, OH; his grandchildren, Emma, Quinn, Porter, Faye Ann, Grace and Hope; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Tom was born in Pittsburgh to the late Thomas and Emma Conway. He was raised along with his six siblings in the Greenfield area. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Rosalia R.C. Church and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1953. Tom served his country in the Navy for two years after which he was employed by the Steamfitters Union for 37 years. He retired in 1998. Tom enjoyed traveling, cruises, watching sports teams and was most likely one of a few men who liked shopping for bargain items in the grocery store. Tom's center of interest was always his faith and his family. He delighted in watching the sporting and academic achievements of his sons, and constantly encouraged them to maintain their faith in God as an ultimate goal in life. He enjoyed interacting with his six grandchildren and proudly exclaimed how "smart and talented" each one was. Tom will be missed by all of the above and many more who knew and admired him. "Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone. Those we love will never be more than a thought apart. For as long as there is memory, they live on in our heart." Friends and family will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Sebastian Church, Ross Twp., on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow in Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, because of the excellent and compassionate care Tom received, donations may be sent to Canterbury Place, 310 Fisk St., Lawrenceville, PA 15201.
