Obituary for Sarah Hampton
Sarah Elizabeth Hampton, 77, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2017 at Shadyside Manor Care Facility.
Sarah was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 22, 1939 to John & Elizabeth Hampton. She was the oldest child of nine children, which five preceded her in death (John Jr., Stephen, Lionel, Linda, Vivian).
Sarah was educated in the Penn Hills School District. She attended Community College of Allegheny County where she pursued an Associate Degree.
Sarah was a hard worker and worked within the medical field for many years. Sarah was employed by Columbia Hospital, Eye & Ear Hospital, Central Medical for over 35 years, Allegheny General Hospital and Magee Women’s Hospital. After retiring, Sarah enjoyed volunteering at the Veterans Hospital.
Sarah is predeceased by her parents John Sr. and Elizabeth Hampton, brothers John Hampton, Jr., Stephen Hampton and Lionel Hampton; sisters Malinda Brown and Vivian Cyrus. She is survived by her brother Lamont Hampton of Harrisburg; sisters Evelyn Mae Richards, Cynthia Denson of Long Beach, CA, brother-in-law Melvin Richards and sister-in-law Sandra Hampton.
