The Life of Frank A. Bedford IV

Frank A. Bedford IV, formerly of Villanova, a retired Main Line builder and devoted grandfather, died of cardiac arrest after a stroke on November 8 at Paoli Memorial Hospital. He was 67 and lived in Phoenixville. Mr. Bedford grew up in Wynnewood, graduated from Lower Merion High School, and attended Penn State University where he received Bachelors and Masters Degrees. A talented carpenter and cabinetmaker, in 1978 he founded Custom Woodcraft, Inc., specializing in custom homes and renovations in the Philadelphia suburbs. He had a wide circle of friends, human and canine, and enjoyed traveling, sailing, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Garwood, a brother, Robert D., a son, Frank A. 5th, daughter-in-law Jamie Bedford, his former wife of 35 years, Margaret F. Bedford, stepdaughters Gayle Peterson and Ashlee Doemling, and seven grandchildren. Published in Main Line Media News on Dec. 4, 2016
