The Life of Dr. Harry Rothstein Zall

DR. HARRY ZALL, a longtime psychiatrist in Philadelphia, passed away in Sarasota FL, on September 3, 2016, after a long illness. Dr. Zall was a graduate of Ursinus College and Hahnemann Medical University, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Following his formal training, Dr. Zall served in the US Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. Dr. Zall served as Unit Medical Director at the Institute of Pa. Hospital, where he cared for patients and supervised medical residents in psychiatry. He also served as Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at the U. of PA. Medical School. Dr. Zall transitioned to full time practice of psychiatry, where he was renowned for his expertise in psychopharmacology and the treatment of affective disorders, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Dr. Zall received awards for his research on the clinical use of lithium carbonate in psychiatry and for being an Outstanding Clinician in the treatment of Affective Disorders.
Dr. Zall is survived by his wife, Ilene Rothstein Zall. A Memorial Service will be held at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 215 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd PA, on Oct. 14, 2016, at 10 A.M., in the Reflection Garden.
