The Life of Barbara Moore

Six weeks prior to her 98th birthday Barbara Moore died peacefully on April 16, 2016, after living in Fort Lauderdale for many years. Barbara was born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Anna Dorothy (Motz) and G. Henri Moore. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Elisabeth (Moore) Lawson and Ross Lawson. Her nephew, Ross "Par" Lawson, also pre-deceased her. Barbara is survived by her second cousin, Mary Elizabeth (Kresse) Hartman, and several other second cousins who live in the Philadelphia area, Ohio and Tennessee. Her good friend, Jo Anne Byrne, also survives her. Barbara worked as a secretary for advertising firms in Philadelphia and also for The Philadelphia Orchestra, which was one of her favorite positions. It was special to her because of her uncle, Emil Kresse, a career musician with The Philadelphia Orchestra. Barbara lived in Fort Lauderdale and enjoyed an independent life at Country Club Towers for the past 27 years. Burial will be private, in Bala-Cynwyd, PA, where she will be interred with her family.
