The Life of Grace Garfield

Grace Evelyn Brown Garfield, 93, stepped on her rainbow Thursday July 28, 2016 at Dunwoody Village. She was the widow of the late Samuel Adams Garfield and the sister of Kathleen Brown Thorn of Louden, Tennessee. She is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews and their pets. Alfie, the youngest kitty, and Jackson, a Portuguese Water Dog, made her very happy with their visits. She was a direct descendent of George and Sarah Smedley who settled in Chester County at the time of William Penn.
The family would like to thank the staff of Dunwoody Village for the wonderful care she received. We will be forever grateful that her last moments were spent with people who loved her as much as we did. In the tradition of Aunt Grace’s Quaker heritage, there will be a gathering on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 1 p.m in the Atrium at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. In lieu of flowers, Aunt Grace requested donations to Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals. 328 Upper Gulph Road, Radnor, PA 19087 (francisvalehome.org). Arrangements by West Laurel Hill, www.westlaurelhill.com
