The Life of Louis Joseph Vizi

Vizi, Lou, a retired FBI agent and long time resident of South Jersey, passed away on June 5, 2016 in Philadelphia, PA.  He was 73. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Brookman), daughter Luz Dary , son Luke  and grandson, Max.  His is also survived by his sister, Virginia Smith. After high school, Lou entered St. Charles Seminary but after three years decided he would be better suited for in an Air Force jumpsuit.  After serving in the military and completing college, he entered the FBI and was a Special Agent from 1973-1998. He was assigned to the Louisville, New York and Philadelphia offices. He investigated violent crimes, organized crime and terrorism cases. He thrived working cases but the Philadelphia office offered him something special that is where he met his wife Linda who sat next to him on the squad. After retirement, he began volunteering at Orchard Friends School 1999, where he would share his passion for reading with the students and helped out at the Moorestown Friends Thrift Shop.  He loved coaching Luke’s baseball teams and was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan especially the Phillies and Eagles.
A memorial service will be held at Bringhurst Funeral Home, 225 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA on Wednesday, June 8 at 10:00am. Interment will be private.  A luncheon to celebrate his life will be held at his home following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship has been established in his name at Orchard Friends School, 405 Linden Ave, Riverton, NJ 08077
