The Life of Dorothy Alice Sheetz

Dorothy Alice Sheetz, 90, of 129 Meadow Valley Rd., Ephrata, crossed over on Monday, June 22, 2015. Her husband, William H. R. Sheetz, Jr. preceded her in death on October 22, 1993.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Ethel (Brice) Cardinal. A descendant of the early French-Canadian voyageurs, she enjoyed traveling the world.
She survived the great London Blitz and served in the Women's Land Army during World War II.
Dorothy was the Postmaster of Earlington, PA from 1985-1989, and a founding member of Berean Bible Chapel, Sanatoga. Living are five children, Roger Sheetz, Vancouver, WA; David married to Mary (Young) Sheetz, Chattanooga, TN; Deborah Sheetz, Palmyra, Paula Keene-Welsh married to Barry Welsh, Ephrata; Geoffrey Sheetz, Kingsman, AZ; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson, and four siblings, Edward Cardinal, London, England; Mina Earnshaw, Auckland, New Zealand; Sonia married to James Coatsworth, Oak Harbor, WA and Elsie Heumann, Palm Bay, FL. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Leo Cardinal and a son-in-law Barry Keene, and daughter-in-law Susan Sheetz. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 68 N. Church St., Ephrata, PA 17522 on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 11 a.m. Private interment will be in West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
