SCHWAB, F. Michael, 77, of Philadelphia, PA, died Thursday, April 28, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Joanne (nee Ford); children: Ann Catherine Wesler (James Wesler), Christopher, Frank Michael, and Janine; grandchildren: James Wesler, Kayleigh Wesler, Solomaya, Mary-Ruth, and Dorothy; siblings: Ann Cornwall, Catherine Ahrendts, John (MaryAnn), and Stephen (Virginia). Visitation at 11:30 a.m. and funeral service at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 4th at Bringhurst Funeral Home at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA. I worked with Mike for a number of years at the Philadelphia Prisons. His humor and astute take on the irony of the many demands placed on his coworkers and himself made tough working conditions more bearable. He was a steadfast Union member, seeing strength in unity, and he never lost sight of ways to help inmates using outside resources like the PA Prison Society. Well read and never shy about expressing his views, he was great conversationalist. He will be missed by all who loved him.
