The Life of Robert C. Reese

Reese, Robert C., 80, of Cedar Heights, formerly of Philadelphia, died Mon. April 25, 2016. He was the loving husband of the late Ilaine Reese (nee Wilcox). He was born December 20, 1935 the only son of Harry and Ethel Reese (nee Spillane). He had a passion for history and the military, serving in the National Guard for 9 years, and as an American Revolutionary and Civil War reenactor. Robert was involved with various historical organizations: Sellersville Historical Authority, 53rd PA Volunteer Infantry, Montgomery County Civil War Roundtable, W.S. Hancock Society, General Meade Society, and Morgan Log House. He was an original Charter member of the AARTOP and served as a board member for the Friends of Hope Lodge. He leaves to cherish his memory, a sister-in-law; Carolyn Rinker, a nephew; Ron Rinker (Theresa), grandniece; Joanna Rinker, and grandnephew; Robert Rinker. Visitation to begin at 10 AM, Saturday, April 30th, 2016 with a funeral service immediately following at 11 AM at Bringhurst Funeral Home at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Ave, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. Robert spent the remaining weeks of his life calmly and peacefully at Keystone Hospice. Throughout that period, family and many friends, visited and or called often, for which Bob was very grateful. He was very appreciative of the staff as well, as they provided great genuine care and attention in his waning days. In fact, he valued the care he received so highly, that, In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Keystone Care, 8765 Stenton Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19038.
