Edwin "Ed" Hutter Stulb III
(October 12, 1922 - October 15, 2015)

Edwin “Ed” Hutter Stulb III, of Harleysville, PA; formerly of Penllyn & Chestnut Hill, PA died on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Grand View Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Elaine (Garrabrant) Stulb for 65 years. Ed was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Edwin Hutter Stulb, Jr. and the late Eleanor (Harrar) Stulb. He graduated from Germantown Academy, class of 1940. Ed worked for and later became the president of his family business, “The Stulb Company” in Allentown, PA for more than 53 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was part of D-Day and was later awarded the highest honor by the French government with the “Cavalier Medal of Honor” (Légion d'honneur) which was originated by Napoleon Bonaparte. Ed was also the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution in Philadelphia and a member of the Union League in Philadelphia. Ed was former member of The Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia where he served as an usher and a deacon and then attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. He currently was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit in Harleysville. Ed was very athletic and enjoyed tennis, squash, golf, swimming, and fly-fishing. One of his greatest passions in life was his family. Ed also loved traveling, being outdoors and enjoyed vacationing in Canaan, New Hampshire and Stone Harbor, NJ. He was a true salesman at heart. Ed especially loved to drive and enjoyed playing bridge and reading the newspaper. He was a family hero when he saved a boy in the Poconos from drowning by performing a newly found technique called CPR. Ed started 5 new AA group meetings with the 1st meeting being held at the Germantown YMCA. He loved life, had a great sense of humor and a keen awareness to detail. In addition to his special friend, Naomi Bergey, Ed is survived by three daughters, Marguerite "Meg" S. Loftheim & husband, COL (Ret) Jon W. of Ponte Vedra, FL, Rebecca "Becky" S. Matz & husband, Dr. Albert of Schuylkill Haven, PA, Elaine "Laney" S.
Landis & husband, Kenneth of Schwenksville, PA; a son, Edwin "Win" Hutter Stulb IV & wife, Laura of Gwynedd Valley, PA; eight grandchildren – Inger, Dennis, Lydia, Dr. Jay, David, Emilie, Hutter & Dr. Daniel; eight great-grandchildren – Preston, Hudson, Tucker, Olivia, Davis, Libby, Saylor & Maddie and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Scull and a brother, Joseph "Jody" Stulb. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 12:00 NOON SHARP at Peter Becker Community Chapel, 800 Maple Ave, Harleysville, Pennsylvania 19438 where friends may meet with the family from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. A private inurnment will take place at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
