The Life of Joan David

David, Joan Hedley, 83, of Cape May Court House, NJ, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015.

Born July 25, 1932 in Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of David Hartas Hedley and Helen Peveril Hedley. She is an alum of Lower Merion High School and a world traveler. Joan worked alongside of her husband of 65 years, running their antique business, "Robert David Antiques", in which she became an expert on oriental rugs. Together, they restored several historical homes.

Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed. She was loved by a wide circle of friends and was known for her patient wisdom, humor and her unwavering dedication to her family. She was also an animal lover and provided a caring home to many rescued pets.

She is survived by her husband, Robert G. David; two brothers Robert P. Hedley and David H. Hedley Sr.; a sister Diane Sylvester; two children, Lt. Col. Robert David USMC (Ret.) and wife Leslie David, and Lynne David Krukosky (CEO of Cape Assist) and husband John A. Krukosky; four grandchildren, Charity David, Jacob David, Adam David and Ashley Wakefield; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Thomas and Morgan Thomas.

Joan will be interred at West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, PA. A private burial will be held by Radzieta Funeral Home and a memorial service announced in the future. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the World Wildlife Fund, 1250 24th Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20037.
