I remember when I first got to know Joan in our cancer support group. I couldn't resist and asked is she wanted to grab some lunch. Ever since then we connected and became friends. I loved Joan, she was a wonderful person and we had a lot of laughs together. I will always remember her, in her last text to me she wrote, "thanks for being such a good friend and the light of my life" I never really knew she felt that way about me. I blessed I felt when I read that. Joan will be sorely missed but now she is resting, out of her earth suit and heaven is waiting for her. No more pain, no more fatigue, no more sickness. Her life will be beautiful up there. God rest her wonderful soul. Love you Joan always and I will see you again in eternity.

Joan and I were roommates during our first two years of college. We had so much fun! She had a wicked sense of humor and sharp intelligence. Tim Roll was the apple of her eye from the moment they met. Their relationship brought out the best in both of them. I send my sincere condolences to her daughters, the product of all that love, and to her mother. Joan was very determined to watch Katherine and Emily grow and flourish, even as she fought her illness. Much love is coming your way from those of us who knew your very special parents.
