The Life of Sidney Davis

DAVIS, Sidney, 92, died peacefully in Boynton Beach, Florida on Friday, August 7, 2015. Sidney was born on November 7th, 1922 in Philadelphia and retired to Florida. He is predeceased by his wife Mickey who he was happily married to for 51 years. He is survived by daughter Pamela (Barry) Brown of Miami, FL, son Michael (Rochelle Matusow) Davis of Bala Cynwyd, PA, grandchildren Lauren (Nathanael), Marc (Liza), Lindsie, Zachary (Jamie), Madison and great grandchildren Mila and Blake. Sidney is also survived by his long time companion Marlene Fels. He was a World War II veteran and served in France and Germany. He was the founder and owner of Davis Lamp and Shade MFG. for 50 years. He loved to play golf and gin. He prided himself on a close-knit circle of friends. He knew people wherever he went and lit up the room with his distinct smile and laugh. But his greatest pride and joy was his family.  Nothing made him happier than spending time with them and seeing them together. Funeral services will begin promptly, 11:00 AM, Mon. Aug. 10, 2015 at BRINGHURST FUNERAL HOME AT WEST LAUREL HILL CEMETERY, 225 Belmont Ave. Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. Family will be sitting shiva following the burial at Mount Jacob Cemetery.
