The Life of Betty Brookman

BROOKMAN, Betty, age 88, wife of the late Melvin Brookman, and sister of the late Gilbert Hanover, on July 27, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Vizi (Louis); grandchildren, Luke and Luz Dary, great grandson, Max; her brother Irving Hanover (Jacqueline) and nieces and nephews. Betty lived most of her life in Philadelphia. She worked as a professional model in television commercials, advertisements for Philco, and Fels Naptha. Betty was part of a singing act that performed in 1960 for Henry Cabot Lodge when he ran for Vice President with Richard Nixon.  She appeared with Ed McMahon and local Philadelphia sports legends Tom Brookshire and Dave Zinkoff. A private graveside service will be held for the family. Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate her life at the home of her daughter on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 4:00-8:00pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory can be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 or The Evergreens, 309 Bridgeboro Rd., Moorestown, NJ 08057.
