The Life of Sara Goldschneider

GOLDSCHNEIDER, Sara, 40, of Philadelphia, but formerly from Nevada City, California and Amsterdam, Netherlands, died on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from complications of Leukemia. She was born in Corfu, Greece to Gary Goldschneider and Antoinette Filanowska. Bart, her husband of 15 years, describes her as “kind, smart, gentle and beautiful, committed to and passionate about her family and friends. She loved to read…a lot, loved nature, movies and music”. She graduated from University of Pennsylvania and received her Master’s degree from Chestnut Hill College. She also attended the European School of Bergen, Netherlands. She is survived by her husband, Bart Miltenberger and their three sons: Julian Miltenberger (14), Miles Miltenberger (11), and Gabriel Miltenberger (8). She is also survived by her mother Antoinette Filanowska and six siblings: Andrew (Debra), Aron (Takiko), Isak (Amy), Anton, Ariana (Floris), Isadora and many other family members and friends. Visitation 1-3 pm on Saturday, January 17th at Bringhurst Funeral Home at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. Memorial service on Saturday, January 24th starting at 1pm at the Unitarian Society of Germantown in Germantown/Mt. Airy (6511 Lincoln Drive, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19119-3625). Reception to follow. There is a large parking lot behind the church (entrance is via Johnson Street), but please consider carpooling to save space in the lot. I'll never forget the first time I met Sara at my sister Becky's house. It's not often that you meet someone who, when you first talk to them, really listens to what you have to say with such openness and kindness. I also remember the first time I met her boys, and especially Julian. He immediately struck me as also being really kind! I know her family will carry her kindness out into the world.
