My Loving Husband

John was my beloved husband from November 24, 1993 to his death on October 17, 2014.  He died encircled by my loving arms, at home, in his own bed, as was his wish.  Death has not caused me to stop loving him, and I visit him as often as is possible, but at least once a year.  This is no easy task considering that our home is in Utah, and our German Shepherd travels with me.

John loved to have fun.  Some of his favorite ways to enjoy life were hunting, fishing, and traveling.  We hunted mule deer together for many years, enjoying the time together as much or more than the actual hunt.  John insisted that I have my first buck mounted, and then delighted in telling visitors that the rack on my first buck was larger than any of the bucks he had killed since he began hunting at ten years old.  We named him, "Bucky", and hung him above the fireplace.

Fishing was another 'time together' activity enjoyed by both of us.  We once rented a boat for the whole day at Panguitch Lake.  We thought that it would take that long to catch our limit.  Boy, were we wrong!  Two hours later we had our limit.  The boat rental was non-refundable, so we went across the lake to one of the resorts and had a leisurely lunch at the restaurant.  Then puttered around the perimeter of the lake watching others fish from boats and the bank.  We returned the boat a couple of hours early, but had a wonderful day and the sunburns to prove it.

Yellowstone was John's favorite place to go on vacation.  We both visited there as children, and fell in love with the Park.  The wildlife and unique landscape drew us back multiple times.  We were never disappointed, no matter the season.  We had a wonderful time snowmobiling in January in the Park, even though the temperature read -30 degrees when we arrived at the first "warming hut".  We sure needed warming as we and our friend that accompanied us on that adventure, could barely move by the time we got there.

We had many such adventures throughout our life together.  I miss the fun and laughter that John shared with me.  Most of all, I miss the love we shared.  I will never stop loving him.  He made my life complete.
