The Life of Anahid Hovsepian

Anahid Hovsepian was born Anahid Panossian in Kirkuk, Iraq. At early age she lost her mother to cancer and was raised by her aunt and grand mother in Lebanon. Her father sent her and her brother Dr. Alex Panossian to Beirut to be educated there. She used to spend the school year in Lebanon and go to Iraq in the summer where her father was a staff engineer for the Iraqi Petroleum Company (IPC). She went to british school and then graduated from Beirut College for Women (BCW). She was fluent in English and Arabic. In 1962 she married Garabed Hovsepian. She lived most of her life in Lebanon. For her, education was paramount. She sent her oldest son to USA to live with her brother and pursue his college education. She never spent money on herself. Everything she had was for her children. All she cared about was her children. If they were happy, she was happy. She was blessed with three sons, Vahe, Ghevont and Raffi. In 1993 after her husband passed away she came to USA to live with her oldest son Vahe. She was very proud of her younger brother Alex. She used to tell everybody that her brother is a doctor. She loved reading newspapers and doing Sudoku. Her favorite TV channel was Game Show Network. She would always watch the game shows and TV. She not only raised three sons but also four grandchildren. She was very proud of her brother. She would tell everybody that her brother is a doctor. 

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Fri., Oct., 24, 2014 with the Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church, 8701 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128. Interment will immediately follow at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, 225 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church and/or Armenian Relief Society, Artemis Chapter.
