The Life of Regina Rita Currie

Regina "Jean" Rita Currie (nee Pedrick), 83, of Galloway, NJ, formally of Medford, NJ, fought a courageous battle with brain cancer. Surrounded by family she peacefully passed away on October 8, 2013.

Jean was born on September 4, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA to John and Pearl Pedrick. She graduated from South Philadelphia High School for Girls in 1949. She then worked at Bell Telephone from 1949-1954 and married Christopher Currie on July 1, 1950 in Philadelphia. Jean and her family moved to Medford, NJ in 1961 where she was a homemaker and raised her children. From 1981 thru 1994 Jean worked as the head baker at Shawnee High School. She was an avid Flyers fan, loved country music, enjoyed bird watching, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.

Jean was predeceased by her father and mother, John and Pearl Pedrick, her husband, Christopher Currie, her son, Kevin Currie, her sister Dolores Evett, and brother, Joseph Pedrick. She is survived by her daughter, Lori Gordon (Bruce), sister, Marion Stein, brother, John Pedrick (Maryanne), granddaughter, Meghan Bruscato (Chris), grandsons, Christopher Gordon and Ross Gordon, two great-grandsons, Jack and Connor, many nieces and nephews, and her best friend, her dog, Boomer.

A celebration of life service will be held at Wimberg Funeral Home, 400 Liverpool Ave, Egg Harbor City, New Jersey (609) 965-0357on Saturday October 12, 2013. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a memorial service at 11AM.
