The Life of William H. Vance

William H. "Bill" Vance, 76, of Chadds Ford, PA died peacefully on September 20, 2014. Mr. Vance was a resident of Concord Twp. for the past 14 years, however he and his wife raised their family in Havertown, PA. Bill served in the Army and afterwards was a Meat Cutter for Acme Market for 45 years. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. His passion however was being a volunteer firefighter, he was a lifetime member of the Llanerch Fire Company where he served as both President and Assistant Chief. He was also a lifetime member of the Delaware County Fireman's Association. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Sarah Harris Vance. Survivors: Wife of 50 years, Phyllis E. Richardson Vance, children; Heather Lavella and husband Sam, Scott Vance and wife Donna and Pam Vance, sister, Frances Carr, and grandchildren; Nicholas, Allison, Raymond and Michael. Services: Friday, 10:00am at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd, Garnet Valley, PA 19060 Visitation: Thursday evening, 7-9pm and also Friday morning, 9-10am at the Pagano Funeral Home, Garnet Valley, PA Interment: West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to "The Committee to Benefit the Children" at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children (www.cbckids.org/donate).
