The Life of Dana R. Hopkins

Dana Robert Hopkins AKA “Cochise” died at the age of 55 on Sunday, September 21, 2014. He was born to the late Barbara Marie Thorpe and the late Robert Louis Hopkins having been raised by the late Robert Louis Thorpe.

Dana was educated in the public school system of Philadelphia. Thereafter, Dana became an employee of the Laurel Hill and West laurel Hill Cemetery Companies as a Backhoe Operator. He took great pride in his work. Dana was a loving and caring person whom always had a way about him that would make you laugh or smile. Dana had a great love for oldies. He was a great friend to those he knew and shared his life.

He leaves to mourn: a loving companion, Aisha; three sisters, Denise, Robin, and Tiffany; two brothers Donald and Michael; John James, whom was an active father figure; an aunt and uncle, Norman and Pat Hopkins; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Dana, I'm going to miss the days when call me Ribbon, you never called me Robin and I will forever remember you big brother. I know that you are at peace now. I will always love you and remember you everytime I hear one of your favorite oldies. Rest In Peace, your baby sis.

It's been quite some time since I've been back to Philly.But,Niecy and the Thorpe/Hopkins home was my favorite place be. Dana, I remember your quiet, yet playful demeanor. I'm sorry that I didn't get to see you since the 70's and 80's. I see that you were as handsome as I remember. (a little less on top, lol) R.I.P. dear friend. See you on the other side.
