The Life of Rose Leevy
ROSE LEE (née Sales), 100, wife of the late Carl J. Leevy, Sr., died September 14, 2014, in Hospice care at the Visiting Nurses Association of Greater Philadelphia. Born in Amherst VA, daughter of the late Jonah and Roxie (née Taliaferro) Sales. Loving mother of Carl J. Leevy, Jr., deceased (Dorothy), Joan Jenkins (James, Jr.), Brenda Preston (Carlton), Wayne Leevy (Laurie), and Lisa Washington (Stanley); 12 grand-children and numerous great and great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Rose was a gracious, gentle, loving lady. Viewing is Saturday, at 9 A.M., followed by the Funeral Service, at 10 A.M., at Pinn Memorial Baptist Church, 2251 North 54th Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Greater Philadelphia, or the United Negro College Fund.
